On the 4th of February we will be at Brighton Open Market from 9am to 4.30pm | Free entry – donations welcome!
Greetings dear friends of Seedy Sunday! Are you ready for the community celebration of the beginning of our gardening year? There’s only two weeks to go before we’ll be wrapping up warm and making our way to Brighton Open Market, Marshalls Row, BN1 4JU.
Bring your saved seeds to swap, in labelled and dated packets – you can use any paper envelope or get free Seedy Sunday envelopes from our lovely sponsors Infinity Foods shop. If you don’t have seeds to swap, you can still get seeds if you donate 50p per packet. Please use card, or the exact cash – so start saving your coins!
Many of the regular Brighton Open Market cafes and shops will be open, along with a pop-up café, so there will be plenty of tasty food and drink for sale. We’re also delighted to welcome back many familiar stallholders including: Barcombe Organics, Berkson Bakes, Solseed Landscapes and Thomas Etty. Newcomers include Chilli Bean Sprout and Ashes to Blooms. Potatoes will be for sale, thanks to Weald Allotment Gardeners Association – come early to avoid disappointment!
We will also be joined by familiar charities and community groups including Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, Brighton Permaculture Trust, the Heritage Seed Library, FareShare Sussex and the Brighton and Hove Organic Gardening Group.
Tickets for the talks are selling out, but there are still tickets available on our Eventbrite page. Come at 10.30 and hear an inspiring conversation between Infinity Foods and their wonderful supplier Laines Organic Farm and join the discussion at Local Gardeners’ Question Time at 3pm.
